Happy Canterbury Angler, Matthew Ellmers may be wrapped up to beat the early morning chill,k but he was definitely on a hot streak when he pulled in this spectacular 12kg salmon from the mouth of the Waimak' in January. Matthew's catch was the best of the day and certainly one to be proud of. The great run of silver this season has lifted spirits dampened by lacklustre fishing over the last decade.
